IC F floor lamp by FLOS – a floating sphere on a pole Michael Anastassiades, the designer of this floor lamp, drew inspiration from a juggler when creating his design. The juggler would roll several balls from his fingertips and back along his arms. Just as the balls rolled along the juggler’s arms, so too does the glass sphere of the floor lamp – with the difference that it does not move. It is frozen in perfect balance on the arm of the frame, symbolising equilibrium and the feeling of being in balance. In addition to the IC light range, Michael Anastassiades has created other lights for the Italian designer light company FLOS. These include, amongst others, String Light and Copycat. The designers working for FLOS have already received numerous awards, both nationally and internationally, for their work.
