Refund policy
Changed your mind, or need a different fit? Here's how returns and exchanges work.
Starting a return
Returns are handled through our return portal at returns.houseoflamps.com Look up your order using your order number plus your email, zip code, or phone number, then follow the steps to start your return or exchange.
Return window
You have 30 days from the date your order is delivered to start a return. The clock starts at delivery, not at purchase — so if a shipment takes a few extra days to arrive, you're not losing return time. We're not able to begin processing a return before your item has been delivered.
Exchanges
Want a different size, finish, or style instead of a refund? Exchanges are available within the same 30-day window.
Purchased through a marketplace?
If you bought your item through Amazon, Walmart, Lowe's, or another online marketplace, please start your return through that marketplace account rather than with us directly.
Condition for return
To qualify for a return, your item needs to be:
-
Unused, uninstalled, and unassembled
-
In its original packaging
-
In new condition, with any crystals or components still wrapped as shipped
Return shipping label
Once your return is approved in the portal, we'll provide a prepaid return shipping label. This label must be used to send your item back — labels from other carriers or services can't be accepted. Ship your item within 7 days of the label being created.
How refunds work
Once we receive your return, our team inspects it — this takes up to 5 business days. From there:
-
Refund to original payment method: return shipping is deducted from your refund. A restocking fee may also apply for select brands.
-
Refund as store credit: return shipping is free, and no restocking fee applies. Credit is issued as a gift card and never expires.
Any expedited or express shipping fees paid on your original order are non-refundable, even if the rest of your order is returned.
Returning part of a multi-item order is no problem — it won't affect the free shipping on the rest of your order.
Defective, damaged, or warranty items
If your item arrived damaged or defective, or is covered under warranty, we cover return shipping and waive any restocking fee. Start the process through our returns portal — you'll be asked for a few photos and a short description before we issue a refund or reship.
What can't be returned
A few items fall outside our return policy. These are marked directly on the product page and won't appear as eligible in the returns portal:
-
Items marked as non-returnable on the product page
-
Items that have been installed or assembled
-
Items not in original condition or packaging
-
Items with unwrapped crystals
-
Made-to-order, custom, or special-order items
- Light bulbs
