Spherical glass lampshade – Glo-Ball T1 table lamp by Jasper Morrison As early as 1998, designer Jasper Morrison developed a series of lights called Glo-Ball, which includes the Glo-Ball T1 table lamp. According to Morrison, the concept behind these lights is to achieve the widest possible distribution of light. This is achieved through the glass shade, which is not quite spherical but slightly oval in shape and made from handblown, etched opal glass. This ensures glare-free light distribution. The designer – who, like many other renowned designers, works for the well-known Italian company FLOS – has deliberately opted for a minimalist design and an aesthetic for the Glo-Ball T1 table lamp that is in no way at risk of going out of fashion any time soon. This is the best prerequisite for a product to become a classic – or indeed, for it to have already become one.
