Captain Flint LED Designer Floor Lamp with Marble Base With Captain Flint, designer Michael Anastassiades set out to create a floor lamp that could serve a dual purpose. Namely, on the one hand, to provide diffused ambient light like an uplighter, whilst on the other hand producing downward-directed, possibly slightly subdued reading light, without the need for two separate lamp arms and lampshades. The floor lamp’s conical lampshade, which is fitted with a plastic diffuser to create a more pleasant lighting ambience, can therefore be rotated around the mounting rod to direct the light in the desired direction. The built-in LEDs emit warm white light, which is dimmable from 10 to 100 per cent using the switch dimmer. The floor lamp, which is generally very delicately designed, derives not only its obvious stability from the substantial base made of black Marquina marble, but also an air of luxury and a certain presence that makes it hard to overlook.
