Description
The IC S1 pendant light by FLOS with an interesting suspension mechanism The fact that a pendant light has a spherical glass shade is, in itself, nothing out of the ordinary. But when it is suspended in such an extraordinary way as with the IC S1 pendant light, the result is a light with that certain something – a light that is out of the ordinary. With the IC S1, designer Michael Anastassiades has created a pendant light that forms part of the IC lighting family and through which he aims to depict the balancing act he observed in a juggler. Just as the balls glide over a juggler’s arms without falling, so too does the glass sphere of the IC S1 balance on a thin brass rod, which also serves as its suspension. Michael Anastassiades designed the IC S1 pendant light for FLOS in 2014. The Italian company brings together some of the most renowned designers under one roof. The result is always products that go on to win international design awards.
